Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 2026
This privacy policy explains what information is collected when you visit Fontwix (fontwix.com), how it is used, and the choices you have. Fontwix is a free fancy text and font tool run by a small independent team. We keep data collection to a minimum, but like most free websites we rely on advertising, and our ad partners use cookies. This page describes all of that in plain language.
By using Fontwix, you agree to the practices described here. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].
Information We Collect
Text You Type Into Our Tools
The text converters on Fontwix run entirely in your web browser. Whatever you type into the box, such as a name, a bio or a number, is converted on your own device and is never sent to our servers. We do not see, store or share it. When you tap Copy, the result goes only to your device's clipboard.
Server Logs
Fontwix is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare. Like almost every web host, Cloudflare automatically processes technical information when your browser requests a page, for example your IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time of the visit. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and protect it against abuse and attacks. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors. Cloudflare's handling of this data is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Information You Send Us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and to fix any problem you report, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Cookies and Local Storage
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) is a similar browser feature that lets a site remember simple settings on your device. Fontwix itself does not use cookies for tracking. We use local storage only to remember a few preferences:
| Name | Purpose | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| fw_lang | Remembers the language version you chose. | Your browser (localStorage) |
| fw_country | Remembers the country you picked in the language switcher. | Your browser (localStorage) |
| fw_consent | Remembers your choice in the cookie notice, so we don't ask again on every page. | Your browser (localStorage) |
| fw_banner_off | Remembers that you dismissed the language suggestion banner. | Your browser (localStorage) |
These values never leave your device and contain no personal information. You can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's site data. If you do, the site will simply ask for your choices again.
Third parties, mainly our advertising partners described below, may also set cookies or use similar technologies (such as web beacons and device identifiers) when you visit Fontwix.
Advertising and Google AdSense
Fontwix uses Google AdSense to show ads. These ads pay for hosting and development and keep the site free. Please note:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Fontwix and/or other sites on the internet.
- Other third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on Fontwix and may use cookies to do so.
- We do not control the cookies that advertisers set, and we do not receive personal information that identifies you from them.
How to Opt Out of Personalized Ads
- You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- Visitors in Europe can also use www.youronlinechoices.eu.
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less related to your interests. To learn more about how Google uses data from sites that show its ads, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Consent for Visitors in the EU, EEA and UK
If you visit Fontwix from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used. This is done through a consent message, which may be provided by a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP). You can choose to accept, reject or manage your choices.
If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalized ads, which use cookies only for limited purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser's site data for Fontwix and choosing again when the message reappears.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are popular, which devices visitors use and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, time on site and approximate location based on IP address. We look only at aggregated reports and do not use analytics to identify individual people.
Where consent is required, analytics runs only after you agree. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Children's Privacy
Fontwix is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict its processing and withdraw consent. Residents of the EU, EEA and UK have these rights under the GDPR, and California residents have rights under the CCPA, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
Because Fontwix stores almost nothing about you, most choices are in your own hands: you can clear cookies and local storage in your browser, block cookies, use the opt-out links above or install an ad blocker. For any other request, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within the time required by law.
Third-Party Links
Some pages link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please read their own policies when you visit them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy when our services, partners or the law change. The new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Significant changes will be made clear on the page.
